Privacy Policy
Last updated 21 October 2026
This policy describes what the Rights AI iPhone app collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is specific to how the app actually works: where we name a service or a piece of data, that is what the app really does.
The short version
- No location, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. An account is optional.
- The microphone is used only while you have assistance switched on.
- During assistance, live audio is sent securely to OpenAI to generate spoken replies. We do not record or save your conversations.
- Nothing is shared with OpenAI until you agree to it in the app, and you can withdraw that at any time.
Who is responsible
Rights AI is developed by Kasparas Sasnauskas (“we”, “us”), who is the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact privacy@tryflickai.com with any question about this policy or to exercise your rights.
Optional account
You can use Rights AI, and subscribe, without an account. If you choose to save an account, we store:
- Sign-in details: your email address, or the identifier provided by Sign in with Apple or Google (with Sign in with Apple you can hide your email behind Apple’s private relay).
- Your settings: your first name, your companion’s name, voice and state, so they can be restored on a new phone.
If you sign in with an emailed link, we send that email through Resend. You can delete your account at any time in Profile › Account › Delete account, which permanently deletes it and the settings saved with it, and revokes Sign in with Apple.
Subscriptions
Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card details. RevenueCat processes your purchase and subscription status, linked to a random app user ID (or your account ID if you saved an account), so the app and our server know your subscription is active. Our server stores that ID and the subscription’s expiry date.
What stays on your iPhone
Your name, your companion’s name, the state you selected, your voice preference, your answers to the setup questions and whether you agreed to AI audio sharing are stored on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. Only if you save an account are your names, voice and state also stored with it.
What is processed when you start assistance
Only after you tap Start and have agreed to sharing:
- Live audio from your microphone: your voice, the officer’s voice and anything else nearby. It is streamed to OpenAI so your companion can understand the conversation and answer out loud. It is streamed, not recorded: neither the app nor our server stores it.
- Your first name, your companion’s name, your state and voice choice. These are sent to our server and passed to OpenAI once, so replies can address you by name and fit your state’s rules. Our server does not store them.
- A device identifier. Apple’s per-app “identifier for vendor”, which is not linked to your identity. We store it with a timestamp to limit how many sessions one device can start per day, to prevent abuse. These records are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Muting the microphone in a session stops audio from being sent. Ending the session closes the connection.
OpenAI
OpenAI processes the session audio and details above through its API to generate replies. Under OpenAI’s API data policies, this data is not used to train its models and may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days to monitor for abuse, then deleted. OpenAI processes data in the United States.
Why we are allowed to process it
- Consent: sending audio and your details to OpenAI. You give it on the screen shown before your first session, and you can withdraw it in Profile › Privacy by switching off “Share audio with OpenAI”.
- Performance of a contract: your subscription and, if you create one, your account.
- Legitimate interests: the device identifier used for rate limiting, to keep the service available and protect it from abuse.

Like any internet service, these providers receive your IP address when your device connects to them. Transfers outside the EEA are made under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
What we do not do
We do not record conversations, collect your location, use advertising or analytics SDKs, track you across apps or websites, or sell personal data.
Your rights
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct or erase your data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Without an account, almost everything is on your device and is erased when you delete the app; with an account, you can delete it in the app. For anything else, write to privacy@tryflickai.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are in California, you have similar rights to know about and delete personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
You may also complain to a supervisory authority. In Lithuania this is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija), vdai.lrv.lt.
Children
Rights AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has used the app and shared personal data, write to us and we will delete what we can.
Security
All connections are encrypted in transit. Saved settings are protected at the database level so only your account can read them. The OpenAI key never reaches your device: each session uses a short-lived token that expires within minutes. No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise.
Important
Rights AI is an AI information assistant, not a lawyer. It provides general information, not legal advice, and it can make mistakes. Always follow lawful police instructions. In an emergency, call 911.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app.
